Nothing in this policy is intended to limit any rights afforded to consumers under applicable South African law, including the Consumer Protection Act, 2008 (“CPA”).

2. Return Period

You may request a return within fourteen (14) calendar days of receiving your order.

After fourteen (14) days from the date of delivery, returns may not be accepted unless otherwise required by law or covered under a valid warranty claim.

3. Eligibility for Returns

To qualify for a return, the following conditions must be met:

  • The item must be unused, unassembled, and in substantially the same condition as received.
  • The item must be returned with all accessories, manuals, chargers, tools, and included components.
  • The item must be returned in its original packaging.
  • Proof of purchase must be provided.
  • A return authorisation must be obtained from 79Bike South Africa before the item is returned.

We strongly recommend retaining the original packaging for the duration of ownership. Original packaging may be required for transportation, servicing, repairs, warranty claims, or approved returns.

4. Non-Returnable Items

The following items are generally not eligible for return unless defective or otherwise required by law:

  • Products that have been used, ridden, modified, damaged, or altered after delivery.
  • Products returned without original packaging.
  • Accessories, apparel, protective gear, consumables, and spare parts that have been opened, installed, or used.
  • Special-order, customised, or personalised products.
  • Clearance or end-of-line products marked as non-returnable.

5. Change-of-Mind Returns

We understand that circumstances change.

If you wish to return a product because you have changed your mind, the following conditions apply:

  • The return request must be made within fourteen (14) days of delivery.
  • The product must remain unused and in new condition.
  • The customer is responsible for all return shipping, insurance, handling, and transportation costs.
  • Any actual costs incurred by 79Bike South Africa relating to the original transaction, payment processing, shipping, collection, inspection, refurbishment, repackaging, or administration may be deducted from the refund amount.
  • Any reduction in value resulting from handling beyond what is reasonably necessary to inspect the product may be deducted from the refund.

Returns that do not meet these conditions may be refused.

6. Damaged, Incorrect, or Defective Products

If you receive a product that is:

  • Damaged during transit;
  • Incorrectly supplied; or
  • Defective upon arrival,

you must notify us within seven (7) days of delivery and provide photographs and supporting information.

Where the issue is verified, 79Bike South Africa will arrange an appropriate remedy, which may include repair, replacement, collection, refund, or another remedy as required by applicable law.

7. Warranty Claims

Products that develop faults after use may be covered by a manufacturer’s warranty or statutory warranty rights.

Warranty claims are assessed separately from returns and refunds.

Damage caused by misuse, negligence, accidents, unauthorised modifications, racing, commercial use, improper maintenance, water ingress beyond rated specifications, or normal wear and tear is not covered under warranty.

Customers should refer to the applicable Warranty Policy for full details.

8. Refunds

Once a returned item is received and inspected, we will notify you of the outcome.

If approved, refunds will be processed to the original payment method used for the purchase.

Approved refunds are generally processed within seven (7) business days, although banking institutions may require additional time before the funds appear in your account.

Refunds may be reduced by:

  • Shipping costs incurred by 79Bike South Africa;
  • Payment processing fees that are non-refundable;
  • Collection or transport costs;
  • Actual administrative costs incurred;
  • Any reduction in value resulting from the condition of the returned goods.

9. Late or Missing Refunds

If you have not received your refund:

  1. Check your bank account.
  2. Contact your card issuer or payment provider.
  3. Contact your banking institution.

If you have completed these steps and still have not received your refund, please contact:

admin@79bike.co.za

10. Exchanges

Exchanges are available only where:

  • A product arrives damaged;
  • A product is defective; or
  • An incorrect product has been supplied.

Exchanges are subject to product availability.

If an identical replacement is unavailable, an alternative remedy may be offered.

11. Order Cancellations

Before Dispatch

Orders may be cancelled before dispatch.

Where payment processing, merchant, banking, or administration fees have already been incurred, those actual costs may be deducted from the refund amount.

After Dispatch

If an order has already been shipped, the order will be treated as a return request and the return provisions of this policy will apply.

The customer remains responsible for all return shipping and associated costs.

12. Inspection and Acceptance

All returned goods are subject to inspection upon receipt.

79Bike South Africa reserves the right to:

  • Approve or reject any return request;
  • Assess any reduction in value;
  • Deduct actual costs incurred;
  • Refuse returns where products have been used, altered, damaged, or are not returned in substantially the same condition as supplied.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted under South African law, 79Bike South Africa, its directors, employees, agents, affiliates, distributors, and representatives shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from the purchase, ownership, operation, maintenance, transportation, modification, or use of any product supplied.

Our total liability in relation to any claim shall not exceed the purchase price paid for the relevant product, except where such limitation is prohibited by law.

Nothing in this policy excludes or limits liability where such exclusion or limitation would be unlawful under South African legislation.

14. Governing Law

This policy shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Republic of South Africa.

Any dispute arising from or relating to this policy, the website, or any transaction with 79Bike South Africa shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the South African courts.
